PRINTING

AFRICAN EDITIONS

Bringing International Christian Titles to African Markets

Many excellent Christian books already exist but were created primarily for North American or European markets.

ObaFaith can explore opportunities to develop African editions of selected titles through appropriate rights and licensing arrangements.

An African edition may involve:

Rights → Localization → Translation → Design → African Printing → Distribution

Depending on the project, this can include adapting the format, pricing, cover, language, production specifications, and distribution strategy for the intended African market.

The objective is not simply to reproduce an imported book.

It is to create an edition that can be produced, distributed, and purchased sustainably within the African context.

STARTING IN KENYA

Building From a Strong East African Foundation

Kenya is a natural starting point for ObaFaith's African Christian publishing and production initiative.

Our Kenyan roots provide an important foundation for developing relationships with publishers, printers, bookstores, churches, educational institutions, translators, ministries, and distribution partners.

From Kenya, we see potential for developing regional partnerships across:

Uganda · Tanzania · Rwanda · South Sudan · Zambia

while building toward broader opportunities in West and Southern Africa.

Our approach is to begin with practical, well-defined projects and build the network progressively.

PRINTING IN AFRICA

Produce Closer to the Reader

For appropriate large-volume projects, printing books in Africa can provide an alternative to producing thousands of copies in the United States and shipping finished books across the Atlantic.

ObaFaith seeks to develop relationships with qualified African printing and production partners capable of supporting projects ranging from smaller institutional orders to substantial print runs.

Potential production markets include:

Kenya · Uganda · Tanzania · Rwanda · Ghana · Nigeria · Zambia · South Africa

The appropriate production location would depend on the title, language, quantity, paper and binding requirements, distribution destination, and overall economics of each project.

Our goal is to coordinate the process from licensed content and production files to printed books and African distribution.

About the project

Starting point

The first step to understand the scope of the project was to learn what shaped a child's learning experience in Haiti and to find out how we could make improvements.

Support from local communities

Location, scale, and accessibility was absolutely crucial to this project. We wanted to make the biggest but most realistic impact to the educational landscape in Haiti.

End result

Contextualizing the needs of Haitian schoolchildren, their parents, and their educators helped us to construct a well-equipped, bright, and accessible place of learning.

“Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.”
